Location: Tatrašnica

Year of construction: older sacred building renovated in 2010.

The church dedicated to St. John the Baptist is located in the village of Tatrašnica.

It was consecrated in 2010.

It is located on a raised plateau, above a mountain stream, on the left side of the road towards the village of Aldina Reka.

The church is reached by a wooden bridge. Funds for the construction of the church were provided by Slavoljub Lukić from Zaječar, with the support of people originally from Tatrasnica. The church was built according to the project of architects Dragan Milutinović and Suzana Milošević from Zaječar.

To the east of the church there is a smaller covered building, while on the southeast side a wooden porch was built, covered with a gabled tiled roof. Below the church, on the south side, there is a spring with a stone fountain, dedicated to Saint Arsenius the Great. To the west of the church there is a high semantron with a light wooden construction and a gabled roof covered with tiles.

On the right side of the road, there is a covenant cross dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord, erected by the inhabitants of the village of Tatrašnica.

Architecture

It is a very small one-nave church, built in a place called the Monastery. The church was made of cut rubble. It is vaulted with a semi-circular vault and covered with a gabled roof made of tiles. Shallow, on the outside and inside, the semicircular altar apse is covered with a tin roof covering.

On the west side, there is a modest entrance with a wooden door above which is the icon of the patron saint of the temple, and above it a semicircular window. In front of the entrance to the church, a wooden porch was built, covered with tiles. There is one window each on the apse and on the side walls of the church.
